Meet Kim, the head trainer at our North County San Diego Got Sit Dog Training location! With over a decade of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine and animal care, Kim brings unmatched compassion, skill, and understanding to every dog and owner she works with. Before joining the Got Sit family in 2023, Kim worked as an emergency and ICU veterinary technician, caring for pets during their most critical moments. Her deep understanding of animal behavior and health gives her a unique edge in the world of dog training—especially when it comes to helping dogs with anxiety, fear, or behavioral challenges.
When Kim discovered the transformative world of obedience and behavioral training, she realized it was her true calling. She now uses her expertise to help San Diego dog owners create calm, confident, and well-behaved companions. For Kim, the best part of the job is watching the moment a dog “gets it” — and seeing that joy reflected in their owner’s face. It’s pure magic. At home, Kim trains and adventures with her dog, Keiko. Keiko, a two-year-old Cattle Dog–Pitbull mix, is a whip-smart workaholic who thrives on challenges. Kim rescued her from Texas at just five months old, and she’s been her training partner ever since. Nugget, her loyal 8-year-old Pitbull–American Bulldog mix crossed the rainbow bridge in April 2025. She was Kim’s first dog and the reason she fell in love with the human-canine bond. Nugget continues to inspire Kim to be the best trainer she can be.
When she’s not training, Kim spends time out hiking and camping, playing rugby, or just hanging out at home with her three cats, a tortoise, and of course, her four-legged best friend. Whether she’s teaching leash manners, addressing separation anxiety, or helping with aggression rehabilitation, Kim’s calm, confident approach has made her one of the most trusted dog trainers in North County San Diego.
