Hunter joined Got Sit with a passion for helping people create better relationships with their dogs and become the best dog owners they can be. Recently relocating from Seattle to San Diego, Hunter is excited to bring his training expertise and family business experience to serve the local San Diego communities. His favorite part about training is seeing the progression lesson by lesson and being able to help people deepen their understanding of their animals.
Hunter's training partner is Lokai, a Coltriever (Border Collie/Golden Retriever mix) who embodies everything Hunter loves about dogs. Lokai is a ball of energy and loves learning new tricks—she's a pure athlete and the best friend a trainer could ask for. Together, they demonstrate the real-world results that come from dedication, patience, and genuine care for the human-canine bond.
Now based in San Diego, Hunter is committed to helping local dog owners achieve their training goals and transform their relationships with their pets. Whether working with puppies, addressing behavioral challenges, or refining obedience skills, Hunter brings an energetic and results-driven approach to every training session.

One of the trainers pictured on this page. Kim leads the North County team and Hunter trains alongside her, and both teach the method Marvin Versteeg developed when he founded Got Sit in 2007. You work with your trainer one-on-one in your home and then out in your neighborhood, so the same person sees your dog from the first lesson to the last.
Yes. Kim trains with Keiko, a Cattle Dog and Pitbull mix she rescued at five months old, and Hunter trains with Lokai, a Border Collie and Golden Retriever mix. They bring their dogs to your free in-home consultation so you can see the finished result in person in your own living room, not on a video.

She schedules your free in-home consultation, matches you with a trainer by location and your dog's needs, and keeps communication between you and your trainer running smoothly. If you call during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, you will reach a person.
Tell us when you book. We match trainers by where you live and what your dog needs, and we honor requests whenever schedules allow. Either way, the method and the program are the same, and your trainer stays with you from the first in-home lesson through the real-world sessions.
